Custom Shower Installation Built for Salt Lake City Homes
Bath Crest Home Solutions is a licensed bathroom remodeling company that has installed showers in Salt Lake City homes since 1979. Shower installation covers several approaches, including walk-in solid surface showers, frameless glass enclosures, and prefabricated surrounds, and each fits a different bathroom and budget. Homeowners typically call us when an aging tub-shower combo starts to look dated, when a leak turns up behind old solid surface, or when they want a curbless design that is easier to clean and safer to step into. We walk through these options in terms of what they mean day to day, not as a list of building materials, so you can see how each choice affects your morning routine, your maintenance, and your home's resale value.
What Determines the Right Shower Design for Your Bathroom
Your bathroom's layout, the location of existing plumbing, and the wall space available determine whether a solid surfaced walk-in, a frameless enclosure, or a prefabricated unit is the best fit. Moving plumbing adds cost and time, while working within the existing footprint keeps a project simple. Bath Crest's design consultation covers this assessment at no cost, so you know your options before committing to anything.

How We Install Your New Shower, Start to Finish
Step 1: Free in-home design consultation. A Bath Crest specialist visits your home, measures the space, discusses layout and style preferences, and prepares a written quote with product options. Skipping this step is why DIY shower kits so often don't fit.
Step 2: Visit the showroom. Our showroom gives you the opportunity to explore a wide variety of colors, patterns, solid surface options, fixtures, and glass enclosure styles. You'll also be able to speak with a specialist who can answer questions.
Step 3: Demolition and waterproofing. The old tub or shower is removed and the space is waterproofed with a proper membrane system before any solid surface goes down. Improper waterproofing at this stage is the single most common cause of shower leaks and mold in Salt Lake City homes, which is why licensed installation matters.
Step 4: Shower, fixture & glass installation. Your new solid surface shower, plumbing fixtures, and glass enclosure (if selected) are professionally installed and coordinated to ensure an efficient, high-quality installation process.
Step 5: Final walkthrough and cleanup. The finished shower is inspected with you, the workspace is cleaned, and Bath Crest stands behind the installation going forward.
Project Cost Considerations:
The size and scope of your project will affect the overall investment. Layout changes, plumbing relocation, and premium solid surface or glass selections typically increase project costs. Replacing a shower within its existing footprint is generally the most economical option. During your free consultation, we'll explain your options and provide a clear understanding of where your project falls within that range.
Shower Installation Questions from Salt Lake City Homeowners
How Long Does a Shower Installation Take?
Most custom shower installations take 4 to 7 business days from demolition through final cleanup. The timeline can vary depending on factors such as plumbing modifications, waterproofing requirements, custom glass lead times, and the overall complexity of the project.
Can You Install a Shower Without Moving the Plumbing?
Yes. If your existing plumbing is in the correct location for the new installation, it can typically remain in place. We evaluate this during your free design consultation and will advise you of any necessary plumbing modifications before moving forward.
What Type of Shower Holds Up Best to Salt Lake City’s Hard Water?
Solid surface showers are often preferred over tile because they are non-porous and do not have grout lines. This makes them easier to clean and maintain, especially in areas with hard water. A quick squeegee or wipe-down after use helps keep the surface looking great, and routine cleaning can be done with a non-abrasive cleaner.
